Had this place bookmarked for awhile and finally got to have an early dinner here. Menu is simple and good options for those with dietary restrictions. Calamari was different than what we all expected (it wasn't fried), but it was a pleasant surprise. The brussel sprouts were yummy and the caprese salad was refreshing, also another surprise that it was a bit deconstructed. I ordered the Sopresetta Salami Pizza homemade with a thin crust. It wasn't too cheesy or saucey, but perfect portioned ingredients. The burger had a thick patty. The drinks were not strong and they didn't have any of the main vodka brands like Grey Goose or Ketel 1. And the drinks were really sweet. The staff were friendly and attentive. Their outdoor seating is decorated nicely and enclosed. I enjoyed their framed cartoon strips in the bathroom as well, entertaining. Presentation and decor makes this place asthetically pleasing. The food? It was okay.

Came to Gather Kitchen and Bar for a nice weekend brunch with friends. Gather touts itself for having farm fresh, high-quality ingredients -- think California Cuisine. While the food here is good, it lies on the steeper end, but what can you really expect given the Downtown Berkeley location. Our waiter was fabulous, even inquiring with the kitchen to see if substitutions are possible (they're not, unfortunately, but it was nice of him to ask). I ordered the seasonal frittata. The peppers inside were delicious and it had a frittata's quintessential fluffy texture. The portion left something to be desired (as did my friend's shakshouka). I did want to try their ice cream but we had other dessert destinations planned. Perhaps I'll be back for their soft serve (made with the infamous Straus dairy milk -- you might've seen their glass jugs in Bay Area grocery stores before).

Went on a Sunday for early dinner. Make sure to reserve a spot via OpenTable if you want to sit out on the patio! Found parking right away. The patio is very pretty and has fans as well as heaters for hot or cold weather. Ordered some mocktails- lavender lemonade and orange spritz and both tasted good Crispy Brussels sprouts - very tasty but quantity was less Sausage pizza- the sausage was fennel sausage and tasted very good. The crust of the pizza was great as well Sopresetta salami pizza- the star dish of our night! The flavor profile was very unique. Loved the contrast of the spiciness of the Calabrian chili to the sweetness of fermented garlic honey. The crust was also flavored with fennel! We ended up ordering another one

I've gone to Gather several times as it is a great meal spot with friends for different occasions such as a reunion and birthday. It is spacious, has great decorations, and their food is filling. The pizzas and burgers are unique and are very memorable. Out of many burgers I've had in my entire life, this is one of my favorite! The outside seating area is heated and looks gorgeous while the inside area is cozy and has a wooden feel. When I came for Brunch, there was a live band playing! They sounded gorgeous and was an amazing addition to my meal! Live music is definitely a perk of this restaurant that not many downtown restaurants have. It is a minute walk from the BART station, parking is street only which is highly limiting, and there is a cake cutting fee if you are looking to celebrate.
